Engineer - Project Management

What you'll be doing... You will oversee indoor, outdoor and special venue Distributed Antenna System (DAS) projects as well as 5G node construction and installation projects while also covering construction and equipment engineering responsibilities to ensure a successful build and deployment program. Project manage the financial, contractual, and regulatory approval process. Project manage regional network construction of DAS and 5G projects including new activations as well as expansions, reconfigurations, and other upgrades to existing systems. Work closely with RF, Real Estate and Transport Engineers to ensure cell site construction issues are cleared and requirements are met. Spend time in the field to fill the construction role, designs, installations, test and turn up to ensure projects are completed correctly. Work with outside vendors including General Contractors and Architectural & Engineering firms on project design and priorities to meet Verizon Wireless (VZW) standards and build schedules. Host weekly routine planning and working sessions with critical stakeholders and regional Network Assurance Managers to review project scope, define issues, develop deliverables and associated timelines, assign primes and track action items. Develop and maintain a detailed schedule for each project and actively manage the scheduled tasks with outside vendors including major milestones, action items, long lead purchases and any other commitments that would impact the project schedule. Analyze implication of changes from the original schedule and take required corrective actions to ensure the project stays on track. Provide regular project status reports to management and the project team. Coordinate and oversee the issuance of RFPs and the evaluation of responses, based on VZW purchasing requirements, and provide detailed analysis and recommendations for the best candidates for small cell construction. Review quotes and issue purchase orders using PeopleSoft Purchasing system. Manage receipts related to the purchase orders and ensure that invoices are paid in a timely manner according to federal and state regulations. Maintain the regional monthly cell capital plan ensuring spending accuracy in monthly forecasting and performing monthly true-ups of YTD monthly spending by budget item. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Three or more years of relevant work experience. Project management experience. Even better if you have: A degree. Experience managing large cross-functional or enterprise-wide projects. Knowledge of agile methodologies applied to project management. PMI or Project management certification. Experience with Wireless/Cellular/Telecom technologies. Strong technical background and an understanding of DAS and telecom network hierarchy and design. Understanding or the ability to learn the required hardware to build a 4G and 5G network. General understanding of network connectivity and hardware associated with network connections. CPRI, Routing hardware, CWDM/DWDM, Fiber optics. Capability to coordinate with multiple work groups to ensure the proper approvals are received prior to construction process. Ability to work in multiple databases to ensure dates, milestones, and critical information is well documented throughout the project. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
