Medical Records Associate

Position Summary
SUMMARY and PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe Medical Record Associate is primarily responsible for reception duties which include answering phone calls from outside entities and assisting customers with release of information questions. Performs other various duties as assigned. MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Answers and directs phone calls from a 3 line system Receives, opens and disperses mail from outside and internally. Assists walk-ins for request of information Informs manager/supervisor of any customer service issues Provides on the job training to other department staff as necessary Performs other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor or director
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. 40 WMP and basic computer skills. 1 yr. experience in medical records or medical setting. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
