Systems Project Engineer

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Assist the Engineering Manager with technical guidance of the systems engineers to develop concepts and well-engineered software designs used in automated assembly systems. Mentor junior systems engineers to accomplish project objectives and use of correct application of standards and practices. Assist Engineering Manager in developing company standards and practices. Adhere to all established procedures as defined by company Quality Procedures, Process Flows, Work Instructions, Safety Procedures, and the Employee Handbook.
Responsibilities:
Review programming team programs ensuring scope is being followed and good programming practices are being used.
Daily supervision of multiple programming teams on multiple projects with the ability to stay focused on important issues of the day including programming scope, schedule slip and potential budget overrun.
Provide concise and articulate, well planned action plans and recovery plans to management of all levels with little or no prior notice.
Knowledge and previous experience developing functional design specifications.
Provide to Engineering Manager accurate and useful feedback for individual performance evaluations on a project by project basis.
Create initial detailed design schedule, handle scope change updates and weekly schedule status updates.
Review sales proposals and give estimated programming and debug labor hours to Applications Group.
Develop and drive new and on-going process improvements.
E EDUCATION: A BS degree specializing in technology, engineering or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of programming experience is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of management experience with emphasis on driving teams to meeting schedule and budget. Must be task-driven, detail oriented individual, with the ability to work additional hours as needed. Critical thinking skills are a must. Must have ability to work with and communicate effectively at all levels within the company and with senior client officials.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
Visual Acuity Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens
Hearing Ability Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.
Working Conditions The employee is subject to a normal office environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when visiting manufacturing floor.

This individual will be involved in the initial set of the Systems Design work for a job and work with his team to assign duties and set schedules.

At our location in Ohio the Projects are truly a team effort with the Project Manager leading the endeavor. All parts work together, with this position leading the controls/systems effort. This individual sits with the Mechanical Systems Engineer and the Electrical Systems Engineer so they can work on and understand where each other's department are and what is needed to get the project to completion.

To be completely in control of all projects driving them to success without my oversight of the details

The Systems Engineers will report to the Engineering Manager, but this position sets their project tasks and manages their progress on the tasks. He is also their technically leader.

Whats the bonus percentage?
Bonus is descretionary depending on the success of the division on an annual basis.
