Gilson entered the mining and highway construction testing equipment field with the introduction of the Testing Screen in 1939.
Since then, Gilson has grown to offer an extensive range of materials testing equipment used in the construction materials, mining, food and pharmaceutical industries.
Gilson is looking for a Technical Product Support Specialist that has an understanding of construction materials testing equipment as well as the performance of a wide range of soils/geotechnical, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt related laboratory and field tests.
This includes addressing customer inquiries regarding product application, installation and operation guidance, performance issues and returns.
The roll of Technical Product Support Specialist is multifaceted and requires the ability to think technically while also making business minded decisions.
On a day to day basis, a Technical Product Support Specialist can expect to:
Provide product, technical and application support to customers and distributors in timely manner via email and telephone.
Will use the information gathered through customer interactions to generate new product development ideas and proactively present to management for potential sales strategies.
Understand and continue to learn ASTM and AASHTO standards.
Work with Marketing to develop and revise product literature, website and catalog content.
Interact with engineering and manufacturing to provide input on product design and quality enhancement.
Works proactively and independently to achieve customer satisfaction in regards to technical issues.
Prepare for and attend industry related tradeshows and technical meetings.
Some travel required.
Preferred Skills:
Basic understanding of civil engineering, geology, mining or construction industry and construction materials (aggregate, asphalt, concrete, or soil) testing procedures or equipment.
Knowledge and understanding of ASTM and AASHTO standards.
Experience operating, maintaining, and calibrating testing equipment.
Understanding of general laboratory quality assurance and quality control practices.
Ability to communicate professionally via email, telephone, or in person and manage time effectively.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
